Roots – Where It All Began

My journey back to the plants began at a hospital bedside in London, holding my tiny daughter, born at 29 weeks and fighting for her life. It was there, in 2018, amidst the constant beep of machines, that I heard the whisper of my ancestors: “Stay close to the ground." They said, "Let the earth heal her body."
And so I studied. I began to make syrups, balms, and sacred medicinal remedies from the old ways, crafting them in devotion, guided too by plant spirits and ancestral memory. She began to thrive.
Years later, sitting in my Somerset garden - having worked as a psychotherapist and trauma specialist for well over a decade - I asked Mugwort for guidance. She whispered, “Look at what’s right in front of you.” So I did. A once neatly manicured English country garden, rewilded. An apothecary full of wild herbs and ones sown, grown and cultivated. Shelves of handmade organic remedies. A deep longing to live and serve in sacred reciprocity with the natural world.
And Rushmead Farm was born. This apothecary is my soul’s remembering. It is ancestral memory re-awoken. Knowledge long forgotten, passed down from woman to woman since the beginning of time - the wisdom keepers.
Every product we make is a ritual. Every balm a prayer. Every blend an invitation to reconnect with your divine body, your sacred breath, your dreams and the Earth.
The plants say "Through our offerings, may you feel the magic and mystery of who you are, may you remember the fullness of your being - in both dream life and waking life." It's time to let the plants do the talking. And for us to listen.
Thank you for being here.
